The 46-year-old winner told the PCSO that he had won three numbers in a previous draw for Super Lotto 6/49. He then waited to place another bet until the following draw, where he was lucky enough to guess the winning digit combination.

He said that he would give his family top priority with his winnings when he accepted the jackpot on Oct. 17 at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City.

"Ang unang priority ko nito ay ang pamilya ko at maipagawa ko ang bahay naming sa probinsya namin (My first priority with this is my family, and to be able to build our house in our province)," he said.

Winners of more than P10,000 would have to pay 20 percent final tax under the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law as per PCSO.

Winners must also claim their jackpot prizes within one year from the draw date, or else, these will be forfeited and become part of the PCSO Charity Fund.
